East Fork White River...Muscatatuck River...Wabash River...White River... .As of Friday afternoon, flooding continued along the Wabash, White, and East Fork White Rivers as a result of multiple rounds of precipitation in the recent past. Moderate flooding was in progress in the lowest reaches of these rivers at Mount Carmel, Petersburg, Hazleton, and Shoals. The main crests are either at or downriver of these locations. Flooding will last as long as into late next week. Flooding is affecting some local and county roads, cabins, widespread agricultural land, and possibly a few homes. The next significant round of precipitation will be early next week and could lead to prolonged flooding in a few areas. Precautionary/Preparedness Actions... Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go another way. Keep children away from flooded areas.
