Greatest threats will be damaging winds, hail, and heavy downpours. High temperatures likely to peak before the lunch hour, ahead of the front, in the mid to lower 70’s, then quickly fall into the 60’s and then 50’s for the remainder of the day. Much cooler air will build into the area behind the front tonight and into the weekend. Overnight lows will fall to around 40 degrees. Partly cloudy and cool for Saturday’s home opener against Iowa. Daytime highs in the mid-50’s with a moderate NE breeze. Lows overnight will sink further into the mid-30’s. Another surge of colder air will arrive late Sunday into Monday with another passing cold front bringing additional showers and thunderstorms to the area. - Meteorologist Anne Brown

After a foggy start this morning, we now turn our focus to a bright, breezy and unseasonably warm afternoon. South winds with periodic gusts upward of 20 to 30 mph will help boost highs into the low 80’s by this afternoon. (Record high was 86° set in 1953). A few clouds linger overnight with lows a good twenty degrees above our seasonal average in the mid to lower 60’s. Changes arrive tomorrow as a strong cold front moves through the area to finish off the work week. High temperatures likely to peak before the lunch hour in the lower 70’s, then quickly fall into the 60’s and then 50’s for the remainder of the day. Showers and thunderstorms will accompany this cold front tomorrow with gusty winds throughout most of the day starting out of the SW then driving out of the NW. Seasonal overnight lows in the 40’s. Partly cloudy and cool for Saturday’s home opener against Iowa. Daytime highs in the mid-50’s with a moderate NE breeze. Overnight lows return to the 40’s. – Meteorologist Anne Brown
