NIPSCO is starting work on two new solar farms

WHITE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Northern Indiana Public Service Company has started work on two new solar farms in northwest Indiana.

NIPSCO is partnering with EDP Renewables North America to build Indiana Crossroads Solar in White County.  The project is expected to produce 40 million dollars in local taxes.  It will also pay one million dollars a year to landowners.

NextEra Energy Resources LLC is building the other new solar farm in Jasper County.  The Dunns Bridge Solar One project will feature about 900-thousand solar panels.

A planned second phase is expected to come online in 2023.
