The West Lafayette City Council voted in favor to give the Library $11 Million to upgrade and add certain new features.

3 officials announced 11 million dollars will be given to the west lafayette public library for upgrades.the project is set to refurbish necessary maintenance that the board has been working for the past several months.they will also include a new entrance and an outdoor area. construction throughout the library is set to start summer of 2020 and wrap up in spring of 2022.west lafayette library director, nick(shain-kel) schenkel, says they're aiming to expand certain parts of the building. 3<the children's area is extensively and deeply used and we really need more space- both for children's materials- books, the music, the videos. we'd love to do more hands-on activities for kids."> schenkel says he does not expect for the library to close during renovations, but that there will be some rooms unavailable.
