3 police cars, police cars, fire trucks and helicopters oh my! these were among the 30 transportation vehicles displayed at this years hands on transportation event.the vehicle show is imagination station's biggest fundraiser of the year.the money benefits the different community programs the non-profit offers. today's event allowed families to learn the function of the vehicles that drive through the community daily.event organizer brian(bet-egg) bettag says it's important the event is hands-on. 3<kids can learn about the world around them, they can touch things, ask questions like how to hydraulics work, what does this switch do, you know, things like that. this gives them an opportunity to kind of learn about the science and the technology behind how these things work.> this year marks the 18th annual hand on transportation event. 3 imagine what american life was like almost 100-years ago. the farm at prophetstown gave the community that opportunity. exhibitors brought out the old-time cars, horses and activities that you'd find in the 1920s.event coordinator lauren reed says it's all about learning and amily fun. the farm often holds events to showcase life in the olden days.it's done with a twist also incorporating the family friendly activities of today. reed says she hopes it's eye- opening for the kids who come. 3<i hope the kids just see that you can have fun without a bunch of electronics and fancy stuff without all the bells and whistles, you can still have a really good time.> reed says this event continues to grow in exhibitors and attendees.you can find the farms next event on our website wlfi.com. 3 the national hurricane
