electric rates in logansport may be going down again.a proposal to lower rates is being made to the city.earlier this year, the city was able to drop the rates by 11.7 percent.next era is a florida-based utility company. it has a purchased power agreement with logansport municipal utilities.the company met with mayor dave kitchell last week.it is proposing an extension of its existing five year agreement in exchanged for a decrease in power costs to the utility. mayor kitchell says any new agreement will have to allow l-m-u to build solar panels. this would further reduce energy and transmission costs.
