us. 3 the tippecanoe county drug task force is continuing its investigating into a narcotics raid earlier today.it happened at a lafayette home on north 14 and morton streets.many neighbors who knew about the drugs say they're relieved law enforcement raided the home. one couple i talked to says its about time. <nats mowing the lawn soon to married laura johnson and austin grist are trying to move out of their home on morton street.austin: we're trying to get a family and then we don't really like the neighborhood.grist along with other neighbors say they knew about the drugs in the home on the corner of morton and north 14th street.austn: it's a little sketchy.but that wasn't the initial reason why they wanted to leave.laura: it's honestly not bad but then there's people that walk by that they just don't look like.they're probably on drugs. several people have been detained, but no arrests have been made.sgt. mike brown with lafayette police says undercover agents entered the home and walked out with narcotics.austin: oh ya, something is going down.one neighbor who did not want to go on camera knew about the narcotics as well but because it didn't affect her day to day to day she was okay with it.laura: i honestly think that's crazy.grist says the neighborhood is typically friendly and most are involved in the neighborhood watch. austn: there two over here, ya they are awesome. they said theyd watch out for the house. but most families living on 14th and morton streets have kids. johnson hopes drug's wont there way back to her street.laura: a lot of people around here have kids and stuff. i don't see any of that happening over here except for that.law enforcement had a warrant to search the home. grist says this should be a wake up call to any other people in lafayette dealing narcotics.austin: hopefully they will start settling down a little bit and maybe go somewhere else. 3 sgt.mike brown says he cant give us any more information since this is an on-going investigation.as updates become available we will keep you updated on-air and online at
