3one of the nations most prestigious science organizations elected a purdue professor to its team.the national academy of sciences elected purdue physics and astronomy professor chris greene.the academy has more than 2-thousand members, all experts in different science fields.greene's is an expert in theoretical, molecular and optical physics.the academy was created for scientists to be consultants to congress and executive branch members. greene says this accomplishmen t is not only validation for his work but also others in his field. 3<many of us who are working in this sub field of physics and there have not been that many members of theoretical atomic molecular and optical community who have been in the academy.> greene has worked at the university for seven years. greene shares his academy membership with one other professor in his department.
