WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — A Purdue basketball player was arrested over the weekend, charged with operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent (ACE) of .15 or more.
According to police documents, Mason Gillis was arrested shortly after midnight early Sunday morning.
Gillis, a sophomore at Purdue, is listed as a forward on the Purdue Basketball team.
A statement for Matt Painter was issued regarding the incident:
“We are aware of the incident involving Mason Gillis on Sunday morning and we will continue to gather information. We will handle internally amongst our staff according to Purdue University regulations and team standards. We will have no further comment at this time.”
