LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — A woman is being flown to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis with serious life-threatening injuries to her leg after being hit by a train.
It happened on South 9th Street between Beck Lane and Twyckenham Blvd in Lafayette.
Lafayette Police were on scene around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday. They said to avoid the area for about an hour
LPD's Sgt. Hartman said the 911 call came from the train conductor.
The woman was initially taken to Franciscan Health Hospital.
