WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Police are investigating an attack that happened on the Wabash Heritage Trail System off of South River Road in West Lafayette.
WLPD received a report about 1 p.m. Saturday, July 20, that someone had been attacked.

The victim said she was walking the trail system alone when she was attacked and sexually assaulted by a black male.
She said the male looked to be 5'8 with short hair, no facial hair and a slim build.
The unknown male was reported wearing gray shorts with white boxer briefs, white socks, black tennis shoes, no shirt, and possibly a black bandana.
