LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — A woman has been arrested after she thought she was meeting a person interested in sexual favors, but a detective showed up instead, according to police.

Alexis Cooper, 22, was arrested at a South Street motel Friday on a preliminary charge of prostitution. Sgt. Mike Brown said detectives responded to an online ad from Cooper in which money would be exchanged for sexual contact.

Brown said Cooper indicated that she acted alone.

The case is still under investigation.
