LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Charges have been filed against a woman accused of hitting a man with her car in a restaurant parking lot.
Brakayla Coleman, 20 of Lafayette, is facing four charges including domestic battery by means of a deadly weapon, neglect of a dependent, domestic battery and criminal recklessness.
About 2:30 p.m. on April 14, officers were called to a restaurant on South Street in Lafayette. A witness reported seeing a woman chasing a running man around the restaurant parking lot while in her car. The witness said the man ran into a flowerbed and the woman drove the car over the curb and hit the man with the car.
Police spoke with Coleman who admitted she was in an argument with her boyfriend. Coleman admitted she hit her boyfriend, but claimed it was an accident.
Officers said Coleman's two children, both under the age of two, were in the backseat.
The boyfriend was walking with a limp, but was not seriously injured.
