Huge 2" fluffy aggregates in heavy snow here at WLFI ob site...33...SE wind 15 mph, gusts to 28 mph...3.6" snow
Getting reports of rain mixing in near Pence & rain near Covington. Snow still at Veedersburg. Been all rain & zero snow at Champaign, Illinois.
All....any merit to 6" report in Brookston? Anyone have reports from there? Seems plausible given that band, but just want to check to solidify the report.

9 p.m.:
Light snow with medium, very wet, globular flakes...33...SE wind 18 mph, gusts to 28 mph...3.4" snow
Even though snow is wet, the gusts to 35 mph are leading to blowing & drifting snow.
Benton County is now under TRAVEL WARNING with only Emergency travel permitted.
Newton County: Travel Watch with only work & Emergency travel
Pulaski, White, Fulton, Cass, Carroll, Howard, Clinton: Travel Advisory.....limit travel due to conditions
Another band of heavy 1-2" per hour snowfall is moving back into the area with 0.15-0.25 mile visibilities. Snow is mixing with rain, however, from Danville to Covington. Reports of just heavy rainfall in northern Edgar County, Illinois to Vermillion County, Indiana.
All eyes are on that line.
This next band looks to have blinding, heavy snow, but should be the last of the heaviest snowfall of the event. We likely will not see such high snowfall rates again.
Be prepared if you are out for this band coming in though that will migrate northeastward over the next few hours.

Totals of 1-4" reported over the area. Roads are snow covered & winds are gusting to 37 mph.
Going 2-4" far southwest.....4-6" rest of south & 6-8" Greater Lafayette & north given that the rain line is holding & snow is falling so heavily. Just kept the wording isolated +8" north of Lafayette due to lack of clarity on where focused +8" amounts may occur.

The entire viewing area is reporting snow. The rain line is just southwest of Covington as it is raining at Champaign & Chrisman, Illinois. Terre Haute has rain, but Greencastle has snow. Central Illinois is all rain. Central to northern Indiana is all snow currently.
2" of snow reported in Veedersburg, 1.8" Attica, 1" Delphi.

All other areas are low 30s with snow.

Light snow with small pellety, globular flakes...34...SE wind 20 mph, gusts to 26 mph...Trace snow
Sleet to snow pellets at first have quickly gone to snow at this site, but very little accumulation has occurred. Up to dusting has already occurred in the western & southwestern areas. We have wet-bulbed from 39 to 34 in 15 minutes.
Precip continues to spread northeastward with any mix quickly going to all snow. Kentland, Monticello, Frankfort, Delphi, Fowler have been all flakes from the get-go.
Now we now-cast & dig into exact storm track & change-over through the night.
