WHITE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI)—Purdue Extension 4-H leaders in White County are moving forward with plans to have the county fair this summer.
This decision comes after Purdue University cancelled all in-person events at the West Lafayette campus through June 30th. Events normally held on Purdue's campus such as 4-H Camp, 4-H roundup and 4-H Academy are planning to be held virtually.
4-H Youth Educator Miranda Furrer told me that plans for the 2020 White County 4-H Fair are progressing as normal. Furrer says several 4-H county fair's may look different than in years past.
"I really hope that the fair can happen as planned," said Furrer. "We may have to make some adjustments. But overall I think the fair is the time for people to get together, to celebrate and really have a good time and to show off what they've been working on."
White County is scheduled to have its 4-H fair July 17th. We've reached out to other county 4-H leaders but haven't heard back yet.
