INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WLFI) — West Lafayette junior Mo Omonode finished the wrestling season as state runner-up Saturday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Omonode's season came to an end with a 3-2 loss in the heavy weight (285 lbs) division against Fort Wayne Carroll's Reeve Muncie.

Omonode became the first-ever West Side wrestler to compete in the state championship match, and finished the 2020-2021 season with a 16-1 overall record. It's important to note that Omonode began his wrestling career just two years ago.
Teammate Connor Barket also competed on Saturday in Indianapolis. Barket placed seventh in the 195 lbs weight class.
The Red Devils are coached by Rick Roseman.
