WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The city of West Lafayette is looking for feedback about future plans for the U.S. 231 corridor.
In a public meeting Thursday night, area planners presented a draft plan for the stretch of highway in West Lafayette. It includes various improvements and a future land use map.
Residents, developers, city council members and county leaders were all in attendance.
As West Lafayette continues to grow, Mayor John Dennis said they want to have some kind of control over it.
"You have to be very cautious about how you control that growth. It's widely known that we are interested in development in West Lafayette, but we want to make sure that the development we get supports the philosophy of our community," said Dennis.
Public input will be collected for the next month. The Area Plan Commission and West Lafayette City Council will then vote to adopt the plan.
