WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — West Lafayette police will soon have a new support vehicle, and the department is trading in seven old cars to get it.
WLPD Capt. John Watson said the seven cars are older and not in use.
He said some repairs to the vehicles are more than the overall value, so the seven cars will be traded in.
The trade-in value plus $11,000 in funding from the redevelopment commission will pay for a new SUV.
Watson said the 2018 Ford Explorer will be an added benefit to the force.
