WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Multiple upcoming construction projects will close roads around The Purdue University campus. According to a press release from the West Lafayette Board of Public Works and Safety, the following roads will be closed:
Newman Road (March 2 through Nov 1)
Newman Road from State Road 26 to Benson Drive will close on or after Monday, March 2, through Sunday, November 1. This closure will allow for the reconstruction of Newman Road and the railroad bridge over Newman Road.
The Purdue Technology Center Aerospace facility will be directly affected by this closure and temporary access will be established to maintain access. Access to Benson Drive will remain open throughout construction.
State Street (Several hours on Saturday, Feb 29)
State Street between Salisbury Street and Chauncey Avenue will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Saturday, February 29, from 8:00 am – 11:00 am. This temporary closure will allow for a large crane to move ductwork for The Tap restaurant located in The Rise building at 100 S. Chauncey Avenue.
Chauncey Ave/Salisbury St/North St/Columbia St (Feb 25 through March 6)
Chauncey Avenue will be closed between Columbia and North Streets from Tuesday, February 25, through Friday, March 6. Salisbury Street will have lane restrictions on the southbound lanes between North and Columbia Streets from Tuesday, February 25, through Friday, March 6. These closures will allow for a utility installation project.
Parking will temporarily be removed from the north side of North Street between Salisbury Street and Chauncey Avenue from Tuesday, February 25, 2020, through Sunday, May 31, 2020.
