WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) -- The Purdue Student Union Board held their annual Memorial Day service Thursday morning.
The service featured a flag retiring ceremony in front of dozens of people from the community.

This is the fourth year for the flag retiring ceremony in honor of Memorial Day.
The ceremony is normally held in front of the block P on campus but was moved to the South lawn of the Purdue Memorial Union because of construction.
Student Union Board President, Molly Tieman said she was happy to see such a large turnout for the event.
"It's great to see that the community of Purdue comes together and wants to honor those, and what the day is all about," said Tieman.
The flag in Thursday's ceremony was donated by a West Lafayette family.
