LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - You are invited out to get a sampling of what Greater Lafayette has to offer. The annual Visit Lafayette-West Lafayette Tourism Tailgate kicks off is Wednesday.
It's part of National Tourism Week. The tailgate will have live music, food and drink samples, games and prizes. President of Visit Lafayette-West Lafayette President Jo Wade said about 4 million people visit Greater Lafayette every year. That brings in close to $400 million to the economy.
Those dollars feed right back into the quality of life.
"We're up in number of employees and we are up in overall spending," said Wade. "More visitors are coming here!"
The tailgate is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. It's located at the visitor center on Frontage Road, just off State Road 26 East. The event is rain or shine.
