Video: Kenneth Brown captured by police after multistate chase

On Oct. 18., 30-year-old Kenneth Brown of Milwaukee led police on a nearly one-hour chase through Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana in a stolen van after kidnapping a 2-year-old child. Police footage of his capture has been shared with News 18.

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — On Oct. 18., 30-year-old Kenneth Brown of Milwaukee led police on a nearly one-hour chase through Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana in a stolen van after kidnapping a 2-year-old child. Police footage of his capture has been shared with News 18.

The video was captured by the Newton County Sheriff's Office on the morning of Oct. 18.

Police spotted the kidnapping suspect, Kenneth Brown, in Newton County. They pursued Brown on I-65 southbound for nearly an hour, before the chase ended in Lafayette. Officers had to use a stun gun to subdue Brown. He attempted suicide and was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Brown was released from an Indianapolis hospital last week. He's now in the Tippecanoe County Jail on charges including criminal confinement with a deadly weapon with a child hostage and resisting law enforcement with a vehicle.
