BOONE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — The truck driver accused in a deadly I-65 crash has penned a handwritten note to the affected families.
The Boone County Sheriff's Office says Matthew Small will not be speaking on camera about the crash, but they passed on a handwritten note from him.

It said, "My heart and prayers are with the families. I am in agony over this whole ordeal."
Small faces reckless homicide charges for the crash. He told investigators he took his eyes off the road to set down his coffee cup and didn't see traffic slowing ahead.
Police say he hit eight vehicles before coming to a stop, sending 14 people to the hospital and killing two women and an infant who were all in the same car.
