TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - The roads in Tippecanoe County were busy with holiday travelers Wednesday evening.
According to AAA, more than 50 million Americans are traveling more than 50 miles this Thanksgiving.

As drivers in the News 18 area are aware, there is construction happening along I-65 throughout Tippecanoe County.
State police want to remind drivers to slow down and don't follow too closely.
There's currently a split in traffic in the southbound lanes. Sergeant Kim Riley said drivers need to take the right lane if they plan on exiting.
"Otherwise, you stay in the left lane, you go the clear shot. You don't have people merging on the interstate at the same time you're trying to go," said Riley. "So, if you're not going to get off at the Lafayette exits, get in the left lane, stay in that lane and you'll have a lot clearer and better shot of getting through this area."
Riley said local drivers should be on the lookout in these areas for out-of-town drivers who may not be as familiar with the construction.
