TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI)-- Tippecanoe County's positivity rate is at 4.2%. That's according to the county health department.
Health Officer Dr. Jeremy Adler said the uptick follows spring break and people suffering from pandemic fatigue. The health department also said the increase is mainly among people 29 and younger. Adler said the increase is one reason why people should continue practicing simple public health measures such as wearing a mask and social distancing.
"It's just important that we hold on a little longer and keep doing all these things including wearing masks until we can get more people vaccinated. We don't want to backslide at this point. We don't want to go backwards," said Adler.
Adler also encourages people to get vaccinated now that vaccine eligibility has expanded to people 16 and older.
