TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI)—The Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office is rolling out a new way for the community to have a voice.
They are now introducing a Traffic Complaint Email. The system will allow people to email the department with complaints regarding traffic violations.
Sheriff Bob Goldsmith said the number one complaint from the public has to do with traffic. Deputies will then patrol those areas.
Goldsmith said in the past complaints would come through through social media and calls. This new system will give people better means of communication when reporting problems in their area.
"We all take an oath to protect and serve and part of that is patrolling and it's pulling people over when they're committing traffic violations," said Goldsmith. "I know it's not popular with some of the public. But that's a part of our job nad we will continue to do our job."
