TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI)—The Tippecanoe County Health Department said the NCAA's announcement to hold March Madness in Indiana is concerning. Health leaders said it'll be a difficult decision for the NCAA and everyone involved in the tournament.
Dr. Jeremy Adler said the biggest decision in the process will come down to how many spectators are allowed at the games. Adler said the safest way would be to keep the number of people around each other down.
"That helps keep the transmission of COVID-19 to a very low point so I think it's going to really hinge on the number of fans that are ultimately allowed to attend the games, live," said Adler.
Right now the NCAA is only allowing the family members of players and coaches to attend tournaments inside.
