LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — The Tippecanoe County Health Department (TCHD) held a press conference Wednesday afternoon to share information and guidelines in handling COVID-19, the Coronavirus. The TCHD issued a "public health alert" for the virus.
Tippecanoe County Health Officer, Dr. Jeremy Adler, said there have been no confirmed cases of the virus and the risk is still low. He also asked that the public stop buying masks due to shortages. Adler continued saying there have been people in the community tested for the virus, but the number tested is in the single digits.
A press release from The Tippecanoe County Health Department said: "We urge the residents, students, and visitors within Tippecanoe County to take common-sense steps to prepare for the possibility that the COVID-19 will continue to gain a foothold in the United States."
