TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) —Tippecanoe County employees are one step closer to seeing a pay raise next year.
As we've previously reported, county employees didn't get raises this year due to COVID-19-related budget concerns.
Auditor Bob Plantenga said the county brought in more money this year than anticipated, and that would have been enough to give employees raises.
Monday, commissioners recommended a six percent pay increase for next year.
The proposed pay raise now goes to the county council, and the decision will be made when the council makes the 2022 budget.
