TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — There's a new face at the Tippecanoe County Area Plan Commission.
Executive Director David Hittle started the role Monday.
He was welcomed during Monday morning's county commissioner meeting.
Hittle was director of planning and zoning for Johnson County before coming to Greater Lafayette.
Before that, he was a senior planner with the city of Indianapolis.
As we previously reported, Hittle replaces current executive director Sallie Fahey. She is retiring after 47 years with the APC.
Hittle said he's excited to be in a town-city environment.
"Previously, with Johnson County, I worked with unincorporated area," Hittle explained. "So, we didn't have the vibrancy and vitality of a city center and the kind of energy that creates."
Hittle added he's grateful to join such a well-established team.
"I don't have to come in and fix anything or do major changes or anything like that," he said. "I'm kind of joining a team that has a long winning record."
Fahey will stick around for one month to help Hittle transition into the role.
