LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) -- A teenage boy is recovering in the hospital Thursday after getting shot in Lafayette.
It happened in the 1000 block of Tippecanoe Street.
This is on the north side of Lafayette about a mile away from the Tippecanoe County Courthouse.
Lafayette police arrived on scene around 4:40 in the afternoon.
LPD said the area where the shooting happened has lately been a hotspot for crime.
Police are unsure how many times the teenager was shot but he was hit in the leg or legs. The injuries are non-life-threatening.
LPD says they are unsure why this happened but the investigation is on-going.
