LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — The investigation into the death of a woman in Lafayette is now being treated as a homicide. According to the Tippecanoe County Deputy Coroner Carrie Costello the victim, identified as Amber Barrett, died from a gunshot wound.
As WLFI previously reported, police were called to the 900 block of Southlea Drive around 10 a.m. Tuesday for what was originally thought to be an overdose. When police arrived, they said it was clear that the death was suspicious.
Officials continue to investigate the homicide and an autopsy is pending.
