VERNON, Ind. (AP) — Authorities say severe storms packing high winds and rain damaged homes in southern and southeastern Indiana.
No injuries were reported following the Thursday evening storms.
Tornado watches or warnings, as well as severe thunderstorm warnings, were issued in several counties as the storms moved across the state. The Jennings County sheriff's office says winds from a possible tornado caused damage near Vernon, including to at least three homes.
The National Weather Service didn't immediately confirm whether a tornado was to blame.
Storm-related damage also was reported near the Decatur County community of Millhousen and in Ripley County. Some power lines also were downed.
