UPDATE: Cruz has been caught and the children are safe, according to Michigan State Police.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — A Statewide Amber Alert has been declared for three children believed to be in extreme danger. According to Indiana State Police, they were abducted by their father in Sturgis, Michigan and are believed to be in Indiana.

Indiana State police said 4-year-old Matteo Nieves, 5-year-old Chelsey Lopez and 2-year-old Aldo Cruz are believed to be with their father, 37-year-old Fernando Cruz. 

Cruz is an 37-year-old Hispanic male, 5'8, 150 pounds, black hair, and brown eyes.

Matteo Nieves is a 4-year-old Hispanic male. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and red shorts. Chelsey Lopez is an 5-year-old Hispanic female. She was last seen wearing pink t-shirt and blue pajama pants. Aldo Cruz is an 2-year-old Hispanic male. He was last seen wearing blue t-shirt and a diaper. 

The suspect vehicle is a black 2009 Chevy Traverse with Michigan plate DWH9204
