State police investigate inmate stabbing at Miami Correctional Facility

An inmate was severely injured after a stabbing Tuesday afternoon at the Miami Correctional Facility, according to Indiana State Police.

BUNKER HILL, Ind. (WLFI) — An inmate was severely injured after a stabbing Tuesday afternoon at the Miami Correctional Facility, according to Indiana State Police.

ISP said evidence shows 27-year-old Arthur Andrews of Indianapolis was stabbed multiple times with a homemade knife by another inmate. At this time, the suspect is still unknown.

Andrews was flown to an Indianapolis hospital and is currently in intensive care. State police said Andrews is serving a sentence on a burglary charge. 

The case is still under investigation.
