Sixteen mile long police chase ends with an arrest

A 16-mile long police chase ended with the arrest of a Lafayette women.

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A 16-mile long police chase ended with the arrest of a Lafayette woman.

It happened around 1:30 p.m. Friday.

Forty-four-year-old Jody Rounds was arrested and faces many charges including resisting law enforcement, possession of stolen property and reckless driving. 

She also had two warrants from the Lafayette Police Department.

Tippecanoe County deputies tried to pull Rounds over for speeding and a stolen license plate, but she continued driving through Battle Ground. 

Deputies were able to arrest her after she crashed her car causing some property damage. 

Nobody was injured in the pursuit.
