0.80-3" has fallen over the area over the past 2.5 days.  This has been the wettest stretch since July 8.

Today was also the coolest day since May 11 with highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

Light rain continues to wrap into our eastern & northeastern counties tonight.

Will maintain 40-50% of rainfall for tonight, mainly over east & northeastern 2/3 & then taper to 30%, then 20% tomorrow with clearing trend southwest to northeast.

Tomorrow will be windy with northwest wind 20-30 mph & highs 62-69 after 48-55 in the morning.

Some patchy fog & 42-47 tomorrow night will give way to a windy, warm, mostly sunny Friday with 74-79.

We will cloud up Friday night with a few scattered showers & t'showers expected in the 1-5 a.m. time frame.

Lows will drop to the 50s to around 60 with a brisk southwest wind.

Saturday looks good with 68-75 with lots of sunshine & west wind at 10-20 mph.

Some patchy fog & lows 44-48 is expected Saturday night, followed by lots of sunshine & 75-80 Sunday.

Winds will turn back to the southwest on Sunday at 5-15 mph.

Monday-Wednesday looks good with sunshine, some clouds & highs near 80 to the mid 80s with lows in the 50s to lower 60s (with southwest winds daily).  A period of stronger southwest winds at 20-30 mph are expected Tuesday afternoon.

After that, there is really no good potential of rainfall up to October 10, so this good-soaking rain was extremely important.

Drier than normal trend will be with us through October & November.

Brush & field fire risk will go up in October to November.

After an overall warmer & drier than normal October-November, it still appears winter will hit suddenly & pretty hard in December. I am still going for below normal temperatures & above normal precipitation with above normal snowfall.

This year, we have a better shot at a White Christmas.

We should then turn suddenly mild around New Year's Eve & the warmer, wetter weather should continue into early January.

Thoughts are that winter returns in late January with colder weather & snow, but the very end of December through early January may have little to no snow at all (after a snowy December).

Late January through the first entire half of February looks colder & snowier than normal, but then late February should turn nice & mild & thaw again.

March still favors above normal temperatures & precipitation with below normal snowfall.
