LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Republican candidate for Senate, Luke Messer is on a 50 stop tour across the state.
As part of that, the U.S. congressman visited Tippecanoe County, Tuesday.
In next week's primary, Messer is up against fellow republicans Congressman Todd Rokia and former State Representative Mike Braun.
He said the purpose of the tour is to get his message out to voters.
"In order for the president to succeed, we need a conservative United States Senator, someone who is a true conservative and someone that will be a Trump ally. That is who I am and that is the case we are making all over the state," said Messer.
If Messer wins, he'll go up against Democratic Senator Joe Donnelly. After Lafayette, he is heading to Valparaiso and then South Bend.
