Over the last 24 hours, most of the region has picked up 2”-3.4” of rain.

Rivers including the Wabash, Wildcat, Iroquois, and Kankakee are under flood warnings. Area-wide there may be standing water on roadways so be sure to drive cautiously and if you come across a road with standing water, find an alternate route.

The system responsible for the heavy rain will move eastward this afternoon which will be associated with a cold front.

Our high temperatures for the day will be occurring this morning ahead of a cold front. This cold front will move through later this morning and into the afternoon which will bring in cooler temperatures and strong north northwest winds gusting up to 30-35 mph. So it will be windy and cool by the evening for your Monday.

By tonight, the rain will taper off and give way to partly cloudy conditions overnight with low temperatures in the low 40s and mid to upper 30s in our northern counties.

Tuesday will be much drier and more sunshine is expected. We will have a north wind of 10-15 mph which will give us a couple of isolated lake-effect rain showers and clouds throughout the afternoon. Highs will only reach into the mid to upper 50s.

On Wednesday, clouds will begin to build as our next low-pressure system is slated to move in Thursday through Friday which could bring in an additional 1-2 inches of rain.

As of now, the rain will move out Saturday morning and give way to clearer conditions Saturday afternoon and Sunday for Halloween with average temperatures (Hi: 61 Low: 42)
