Republicans sweep in contested White County races

Republican candidates won in four contested races in White County Tuesday.

WHITE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — Republican candidates won in four contested races in White County Tuesday.

Circuit Court:

Republican Jason Thompson defeated Democrat Stacey Diener with 54% of the overall vote. 

Jason A Thompson (R) 4,650 54%
Stacey L Diener (D) 3,883 46%

Clerk of Circuit Court:

Laura Cosgray, who was fired in February as deputy clerk, defeated Democratic challenger Jayne Kyburz Snowberger.

Laura A Cosgray (R) 4,591 54%
Jayne Kyburz Snowberger (D) 3,906 46%

Auditor:

Repbulican Gayle Rogers won with more than two-thirds of the vote Tuesday.

Gayle E Rogers (R) 5,799 69%
Kimberley "Mummert" Burns (D) 2,622 31%

Sheriff:

A new sheriff is in town as Pat Shafer ends his term. Republican Bill Brooks took 65% of the vote.

Bill Brooks (R) 5,344 65%
Mark A Helms (I) 2,920 35%
