WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Republican Precinct Committeeman Caucus has filled the vacant seat on the West Lafayette City Council. As we previously reported, former Councilman Norris Wang suddenly passed away in January.
Dr. Jeffrey Brown of West Lafayette will fill that seat for the remainder of Wang's term, which ends in 2023.
Vice Chairman of the Tippecanoe GOP, Julie Roush, sent the following biography about Dr. Brown:
Dr. Brown is a 1976 graduate of Indiana University, and a 1980 graduate of Indiana University’s School of Medicine. His service in the local medical community spans a period of nearly four decades as both a physician and in a variety of assignments in medical administration. He most recently served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Indiana University School of
Medicine at Purdue University, West Lafayette.
Dr. Brown shared that he and Councilman Wang were neighbors and friends. He He acknowledged that serving as a
West Lafayette City Councilman will involve a great deal of listening and learning on his part.
“I’m honored to serve the citizens of West Lafayette and hope as well to honor Norris and his outstanding legacy of service to our community!" said Dr. Brown in the press release.
The next West Lafayette City Council meeting will take place on Monday, March 1st.
