LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Local teachers, administrators and community members are raising their voices together for students and schools.
Tuesday afternoon they marched while wearing red shirts, shoes and pants from Lafayette Jeff High School to the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds.
The march is about calling attention to and helping the public become more aware of funding problems within schools.
Organizers say the community needs to step up and that includes understanding misconceptions.
"It's really crucial that we make this a point to our community that we have to have more funding from the state and what they have given us is more than they have before, but it is not enough," said West Lafayette teacher, Randy Studt.
"Red for Ed" is hosting a town hall meeting on September 19th at 6:30 p.m.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
