OXFORD, Ind. (WLFI) - Hospital workers are using a unique resource to help them protect their families. RVs for MDs is a Facebook page that connects people who work in hospitals with people who are willing to lend their trailers, campers and RVs.
This nationwide initiative has really taken off since the outbreak of the coronavirus. Vickie and Brandon Jordan from New Palestine Indiana are lending their RV to Alana Downs, who lives in Oxford.
She works as unit support tech in one of the emergency rooms at IU Health Arnett. She had concerns about bringing coronavirus home to her grandparents and children, but is thankful for the Jordan's generosity.
"It was exciting and it was emotional. the generosity and the kindness that their family showed to my family being complete strangers is just absolutely amazing," she said.
She hopes other people who need this resource reach out and help out.
"I just want people to know that if you do have an RV that is available and you can loan to another family like me or another individual please do so," she said.
