WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Nojel Eastern will not finish his college basketball career at Purdue.
Eastern entered the transfer portal on Tuesday.
He is the second player to transfer from the program this offseason. Matt Haarms announced his committment to Brigham Young last month.
Eastern started 62 games over the last two seasons. The Evanston, Illinois native averaged 4.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists this past season. He led the Boilermakers in total assists and steals.
As a sophomore, Eastern helped Purdue reach the Elite Eight posting four double-doubles in the NCAA Tournament.
The two-time Big Ten All-Defensive team selection submitted his name in the NBA Draft two weeks ago.
Eastern will have one year of eligibility remaining if he withdraws his name from consideration.
