WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) —As the start to the new school year approaches, the Co-Rec on Purdue's campus will be open beginning next Wednesday July, 29.

The reopening will have several restrictions with the visitor's safety in mind. A 250 person capacity will be implemented on a first come, first serve basis.

Guests will be limited to students, faculty and staff, and those with memberships prior to the Co-Rec's initial closing in March. Masks will be required at all times in the building.

Director of recreation and wellness Mike Warren said this gives his staff enough time to prepare before students arrive.

"A lot of it is based on both our student and Purdue communities physical and mental well being," said Warren.

"By us opening and being able to provide both places to work out, to get your routine back in order, to get your lifestyle moving forward we feel we can provide that in a safe and effective manner."
