Purdue’s Carsen Edwards to return for junior season

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Purdue’s Carsen Edwards is returning for his junior season, according to head coach Matt Painter.

Painter made the announcement at Tuesday’s “Boilermakers on the Road” event.

Edwards paced Purdue in scoring with 18.5 points/game in 2017-18, leading the Boilermakers to a spot in the Sweet Sixteen, where the team lost to Texas Tech.

Edwards declared for the NBA Draft shortly after the season ended, but will now withdraw to retain his college eligibility.

The deadline to withdraw is Wednesday night at 11:59.

Purdue’s Nojel Eastern also entered his name in the draft after the season. His announcement is expected by Wednesday evening.
