WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Purdue defeated Indiana State, 80-68, at Mackey Arena on Saturday night.
The Boilers led 38-29 at the half, behind Trevion Williams' 18 first half points. Purdue shot 57% from the floor in the opening 20 minutes.
Williams continued a great night in the second half, posting a double-double with 30 points and 11 rebounds on 13-for-18 shooting. This marks his second 30 point game with Purdue.
Indiana State attempted to make a comeback with six minutes left in the game, cutting the deficit to 5 points. Purdue was able to hold off the Sycamores to pick up its second home win this season.
Cooper Neese, a Cloverdale High School alum, posted 22 points in Indiana State's loss.
Purdue improves to (3-2) on the season.
