WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — The Purdue Board of Trustees will vote Friday on the approval of a posthumous degree for a student killed in a cave rappelling accident.
Trever Col died on Nov. 23 after he fell 200 feet while rappelling in Alabama's Valhalla Cave. Col was a senior studying mechanical engineering from Austin, Texas. He was on the trip with four other Purdue students.
The 21-year-old was involved in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon racing team and Purdue Outing Club. He also studied abroad in China and served as a summer intern at Siemens in Norwood, Ohio.
The trustees will meet at 9:15 Friday morning in Stewart Center room 326.
