Ulibarri most recently served as general manager for industrial automation at Eckhart USA, based in Columbus, Indiana. He says he says this will be a factory of the future and is something he's excited about leading.
"I think it's really good for advancing the best practices that have existed in manufacturing for the past 100 years and really challenging ourselves to go beyond that," he said.
He also said he's excited to bring his family back to West Lafayette, and to be part of the growth happening at his alma mater.
"As I've watched Purdue evolve and grow it's really become a nice place to not just promote advanced education but also create a lot of partnership with industry," he said.
Ulibarri said they are hiring people for jobs right now. The facility is expected to be operating at full capacity by 2027.
