WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Purdue football has canceled Tuesday's practice after the team's daily COVID-19 testing protocols.
The athletic department released a brief statement, reading:
"The Purdue football program has canceled practice Tuesday to evaluate the results of recent COVID-19 testing."
The status of Purdue's rivalry game against Indiana is currently unclear. If the showdown is canceled, it would mark the first time ever the Old Oaken Bucket Game did not take place. The Boilers and Hoosiers began playing for the Bucket in 1925. The last season the Gold and Black and Cream and Crimson did not collide on the gridiron was 1919.
